Obtain de facto, the status of international expert !

WVEPAH is the second branch of the European Association for Veterinary Specialization (EAVS), a non-profit organization founded in Luxembourg in 1989. The EAVS, with the support of the European Union (EU), has promoted and helped organize the transnational specialization of veterinarians in Europe. In 1992, the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) was created, dedicated to companion animals. The ESAVS has been supported by several EU education programs to develop the concept of veterinary specialization by providing professionals with high-quality continuing professional development.

The ESAVS continues to enjoy great success. Educational programs in 27 locations in Europe and 10 in China enroll more than 2000 participants every year, coming from more than 50 countries. The ESAVS is accredited by Veterinary Continuing Education in Europe (VetCEE) and the Federation of Education in Europe (FEDE) and offers Certificate and European Professional Master programs in the field of companion animal veterinary medicine.

Empowering profesionnals to contribute to the sustainability of human nutrition

WVEPAH was established in 2010, with the support of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), in response to the significant need for more training of professionals in the field of production animals and to provide accreditation through a standardized exam for experienced practitioners. Based on the ESAVS model, WVEPAH is a supranational platform which welcomes teachers recognized in their field and manages all practical aspects of the training.

The diplomas are issued by the Université de Montréal (UdeM) and validated worldwide by the WOAH for the regulatory portion of the program. The graduates are, therefore, able to apply WOAH recommendations in the field. Participants, being professionals already, improve their know-how and knowledge in all aspects of their field.

The need for WVEPAH courses can be seen in the link below presenting the results of an analysis of the skill level of poultry experts in their day-to-day work, clearly highlighting some significant disparities among professionals. Professionals in poultry, as with the majority of experts regardless of their speciality, have a high level of knowledge in certain aspects of their field (for instance, vaccinology or antibiotherapy if they work for the pharmaceutical sector, etc.). But, at the same time, they may have some serious gaps in epidemiology, biosecurity, animal welfare, regulations etc. Therefore, the objective of our WVEPAH training programs is to enable these professionals to reach a high standard in all fields, as required by the WOAH, and to achieve the status of international expert.

At the end of a program, participants should immediately be able to apply what they have learned, be it in their practice, in their university or in their company. WVEPAH also functions as a recruiting platform for future specialists at European and North American colleges.

Participants who wish to validate their knowledge through a university diploma can take our internationally recognized Certificate examinations, validated at an international level by the WOAH.

Worlwide validated by WOAH/OIE .
